The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is a national treasure -- and one of the most important onshore denning habitats for America's remaining polar bears.

Call President Obama today and urge him to permanently protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Help Save Polar Bears and Other Wildlife

Dear Wildlife Supporter,

Right now, a polar bear mother is preparing her den in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge -- one of the most important onshore denning habitats for America's struggling polar bears. When she emerges next spring, she will rear her cubs in one of America's most spectacular landscapes.

But Big Oil wants to get its hands on this special place. And if it does, disruptive exploration and drilling could drive polar bears mothers to abandon their cubs, leaving them to starve to death.

Please call President Obama today at (202) 456-1414 and deliver this simple message:

My name is YOUR Friend of Defenders and I'm calling from YOUR STATE to urge you to permanently protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from oil and gas development. The Arctic Refuge is a unique national treasure that is one of the most important onshore denning habitats for our struggling polar bears. It is also home to one of America's largest caribou herds, arctic foxes and millions of migratory birds. Please do all you can to protect this fragile and special place.

Important: Please let us know that you called. We will be closely tracking the number of calls in order to ensure that all our voices are heard on this important issue.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge -- and to celebrate, thousands of people from across the country are calling on President Obama to permanently protect this unique national treasure and the wildlife that depend on it to survive.

Join the fight. Make your call for the Arctic right now.

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is important not only for our struggling polar bears, but also for millions of migratory birds and one of America's largest caribou herds. It's a special place that's home to wolves, arctic foxes and a diverse array of other wildlife.

Just one call could help protect this special place forever.

Please call President Obama today to urge him to permanently protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge -- and let us know you called.
