Help stop the next mass killing of wolves

Idaho is gunning for wolves ... again

Help stop the next mass killing of wolves

Hundreds of wolves could be shot. Wolf pups could be gassed in their dens. We need your reliable support for a prolonged fight. Help NRDC save wolves from slaughter by making a monthly pledge right now.

Become an NRDC Monthly Partner

Dear Anne,

The battle to protect wolves is far from over.

Just one month after a federal judge ruled in our favor and restored endangered species protection to wolves in Idaho and Montana, a new plan to slaughter hundreds of wolves has been proposed.

As part of that plan, newborn wolf pups could be heartlessly gassed to death in their dens.

The federal Wildlife Services agency is teaming up with the State of Idaho in this bloody and misguided scheme to slash the wolf population in Idaho by as much as 40 percent, potentially wiping out entire packs!

It has now become clear that NRDC must have more reliable and steady funding if we are to fight off an ever-increasing number of attacks on wolves like this one.

Please become an NRDC Monthly Partner right now so that we can defend Idaho's wolves from the coming assault -- even as we prepare for the next wave of attacks.

Your gift of just $5 or $10 a month will help provide the reliable resources that are so urgently needed to protect wolves from these escalating threats.

Please understand: since we prevailed over them in court, state officials across the Northern Rockies are now desperately searching for loopholes to kill wolves. In Idaho, they claim that wolves are a serious threat to livestock, elk and deer.

But wolves account for only a miniscule percentage of livestock losses -- and 23 of Idaho's 29 elk population zones meet or exceed the state's own objectives. But they won't let the facts get in the way of their real agenda: killing more wolves. And so the deadly attacks on wolves just keep on coming.

Here is the latest threat: No fewer than four new bills have been introduced in Congress to strip wolves of their hard-won endangered species protection!

The only way for us to defend wolves against this and every new threat is to have a steady source of funding.

Please become a Monthly Partner today so that NRDC can safeguard wolves and defend our environment in the most effective way possible. A contribution of as little as $5 or $10 a month can make a big difference to our campaigns.

Your monthly support will give us the steady resources we need to mobilize the public against the latest state plans for the mass killing of wolves ... turn back efforts in Congress to strip wolves of their federal protection ... and go to court each and every time wolves desperately need our legal defense.

Please become a Monthly Partner today and give wolves a sustainable future in the Northern Rockies!

Sincerely,
Peter

P.S. The battle to protect wolves never stops because wolves have powerful enemies. New threats are emerging as fast as the click of a trigger. The only way to fight them off is to be constantly on the ready, and your monthly support will help make that possible. Become an NRDC Monthly Partner today, and play a special, frontline role in saving wolves from slaughter. Thank you.
