PETA - Expose Abuse. Rescue Animals. Investigations & Rescue Fund. Help us stop attacks against undercover investigations!
PETA undercover investigators have helped to document and stop some of the worst cruelty to animals--including the violent abuse of pigs at a Hormel Foods supplier farm in Iowa. That state and others are considering legislation that could make such investigations illegal. You can help support PETA's lifesaving investigations and rescue work right now. Join PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund! Dear Anne,

"Make her cry."

That's what a supervisor at a Hormel supplier farm said as he savagely kicked a young pig in the face, abdomen, and genitals to make her move. This wanton act of abuse likely would have gone unnoticed if brave PETA undercover investigators hadn't been documenting it and other abuses witnessed on this Iowa factory farm. Thanks to the evidence that our investigators collected, 22 charges of livestock neglect and abuse were filed against six employees (all defendants admitted guilt) of this factory farm, just one of many in the largest pig-producing state in the U.S. Thanks in no small part to the success of groundbreaking investigations like this one and efforts of giant companies such as Hormel, there's a new legislative movement in Iowa and other states that could make it illegal for undercover investigators to expose cruelty to animals.

Won't you support PETA's lifesaving undercover investigations by joining the Investigations & Rescue Fund with a monthly gift?

The violence and abuse we uncovered at the Hormel supplier is not unique to this one farm. The meat industry knows that it has something to hide, so it's using its influence in state legislatures to push for these new "anti-filming" laws that are supposed to prevent anyone from "interfering with an animal facility or crop operation."

While recent efforts in Florida to enact such a law have failed for this year, Iowa and Minnesota state legislatures are still considering these draconian laws. If such laws are enacted, the work that our investigators did to expose the abuse at the Hormel supplier would be illegal—and the abuse would continue unreported!

What these bills are really designed to prevent is PETA's continued efforts to expose and stop the cruelty to animals. These new laws have the vocal support of not only the meat industry but also factory farms, puppy mills, and other businesses directly responsible for some of the most horrifying abuses of animals that PETA undercover investigations have exposed.

Please stand with us as we fight for the right to expose animal abuse and educate the public about the horrors that animals are subjected to behind the closed doors of factory farms and similar facilities. Join the Investigations & Rescue Fund today with your monthly gift.

The Investigations & Rescue Fund is supported by a group of dedicated PETA donors who want to further this vitally important part of our efforts in behalf of animals—our undercover investigations and rescue work. Members commit to a monthly gift, pre-authorized on a credit card, to provide PETA with a stable base of support and the ability to respond quickly to challenges such as these newly proposed bills.

The fight against this kind of legislation will not be an easy one; PETA is up against powerful industries with deep pockets. Proponents of this new legislation are afraid that PETA will continue to document routine violations of state and federal animal protection laws that would otherwise go unreported. They're afraid that once the public sees what happens to animals on factory farms, they'll change their minds about consuming meat products.

But if these new bills are enacted, investigators seeking to expose abuses like those that we documented at the pig farm could face arrest, stiff fines, and even jail time, and their evidence of wrongdoing would never see the light of day.

Please support our investigative work by becoming a monthly supporter of PETA's Investigations & Rescue Fund today. Your Investigations & Rescue Fund gift will be charged at the same time each month, and you can change or cancel your donation at any time.

Thank you for your commitment to animals.

Kind regards,
