Dear Anne,

Preventing another oil spill is up to us.

We just have one more day to meet our $50,000 goal. Please donate now!

Last April, mother sea turtles in the Gulf were intent on one thing – reaching the beach to lay their eggs. But for some, when the Deepwater Horizon exploded, millions of gallons of oil made that goal nearly impossible.

Poisonous oil soaked the sand of some beaches where the mother turtles lay their eggs. Sticky tar coating the surface made swimming – and breathing – difficult. Hundreds of threatened and endangered turtles were hurt, and many baby sea turtles may never have even had a chance to live.

Now, on the anniversary of this devastating spill, Congress is considering legislation that would allow more drilling! Oceana is committed to stopping these bills from passing, but we need to reach our $50,000 goal to keep up the fight in the tough weeks to come.

Help make sure baby sea turtles have a future free from toxic oil by chipping in $25 today - the deadline is tomorrow!

There is no question that more offshore drilling puts animals at risk. For endangered sea turtles in the Gulf, whales in the Arctic, and harbor seals in the Pacific, oil spills can be deadly. And as long as we allow offshore drilling, they will happen over and over again.

With your help, Oceana has beaten oil companies and their allies in Congress before. But now they're back on the offensive, pushing hard to overturn the drilling ban and make it easier to drill from coast to coast, and we need you to stand with us again.

Your support today will help Oceana stop reckless pro-drilling legislation from becoming law by:

Baby Turtle Fighting in Congress to urge our allies to say "no" to legislation that would allow more offshore drilling and put the lives of hundreds of thousands of marine animals at risk;
Baby Turtle Mobilizing grassroots activists to put the pressure on key members of Congress to stand up for sea turtles, seals and other animals and say "no" to more offshore drilling; and
Baby Turtle Educating the public on the deadly consequences of oil spills and their impact on already threatened and endangered marine animals.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the worst accidental oil spill in history – and we can make sure it never happens again.

But Anne, we need to hear from you to do it – stand with Oceana to stop another oil spill by donating $25 today.

Together, we can make sure oil spills like the Deepwater Horizon disaster are a memory, not a reality.

For the oceans,
Tatiana Marshall
