To save wolves like this, we need to counter the vocal anti-wolf rhetoric on the ground.

Please donate today to help ensure a lasting future for wolves in the Northern Rockies and respond to other wildlife emergencies.

Increase your impact -- Please forward this message on to others who care about wildlife.

Dear Wildlife Supporter,

The anti-wolf rhetoric is heating up in Greater Yellowstone -- and politicians and extremists are eager to fan the flames of hate against the wolves you and I fought so hard to return to the wild.

We need your help to counter the vocal anti-wolf rhetoric in the region and save wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies. Please donate now.

The rhetoric is getting out of control. Fringe anti-wolf groups refer to wolf poachers as "wildlife patriots."1 The founder of the misleadingly named Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife suggests using adopted shelter dogs and sheep as bait to lure wolves to their deaths.2

Idaho Governor "Butch" Otter even went so far as to call elk and other wild game "livestock" -- implying there should be a right to kill wolves that are feeding on their natural prey.3

That's why Defenders is embarking on an ambitious new initiative to seek out the voices of reason for our wolves in Greater Yellowstone and counter the escalating anti-wolf hysteria.

Will you help? Please donate today to help ensure a lasting future for wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies and to respond to other wildlife emergencies.

The vocal wolf haters even have the ear of some in Congress as several new bills have been introduced that not only threaten the future of wolves in Greater Yellowstone, but also the very foundation of the Endangered Species Act. These bills could even be considered for passage in the upcoming lame-duck session of Congress.

We can't let the shrill voice of hatred win out over sound, science-based solutions. Please donate now to help.

With your help, we won a key ruling against the flawed federal delisting of wolves. And with your support, we can continue the difficult fight to make sure that these national treasures will be around for future generations.

Your donation will help Defenders of Wildlife:

  • Counter the toxic anti-wolf rhetoric with reasonable and level-headed voices of those living with wolves in the region;
  • Build support for wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies through media outreach, public education and collaboration with local conservationists;
  • Uphold the integrity of the Endangered Species Act by opposing anti-wolf bills in Congress; and
  • Work with ranchers and livestock owners on the ground using proven non-lethal methods to save the lives of wolves and livestock.
We can't do any of this work without your help. Please make a tax-deductible donation today and help fight anti-wolf extremists and win for wolves.
